Back to the ocean in the morning, Fuerteventura, El Cotillo windy beaches

El Cotillo is a beautiful fishing village on the North West coast of Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands. The village boasts some of the best seafood restaurants on the island, has the best sunsets and is a haven for artists, sun-lovers, windsurfers and surfers. The new sport being practised is kite surfing, a mixture of three sports, surfing, windsurfing and power kiting.

Naturist's or the old term nudist's love the place with its countless coves, shallow water lagoons and most of all peace and quiet. We did we! :-)

From El Cotillo it's possible to reach Corralejo by the north track, 4x4 jeeps are the best mode of transport for this short journey. For the first part the sand on the track is so fine that many a normal car has to be towed out, from Marinincho another shanty type fishing village the track is much harder and kinder on the car.

The village is divided into two parts, on the left is the wild beach where the surfers and windsurfers play and on the right are the quiet lagoons and sandy coves ideal for families with young children who play in the warm shallow water.
